What would you like to check?

Certified bonding

The bonded joint must be designed, prepared, executed and documented

For technically demanding bonded joints, the entire procedure is decisive: surface condition, cleanliness, choice of glue, preparation of parts, application, fixation, curing, inspection and traceability. That's why we approach bonding as a production process, not as a one-time operation.

EN 17460 – class A1 for demanding bonded joints

A1 certification supports jobs where bonding is a critical part of the product and must be done in a controlled, controlled and documented process.

Purity, preparation and controlled process conditions

Before bonding, we deal with the material, surface condition, degreasing, possible roughening, activation, primer, time continuity and conditions that affect the strength and long-term reliability of the connection.

Surface preparation

The quality of the bonded joint begins long before the adhesive is applied

For each bonding, it is necessary to verify the material, surface condition, previous technological steps, cleanliness, compatibility of the adhesive and the required load of the joint. An error in surface preparation often becomes apparent later in bonding, which is why we address it as a key part of the job.

Depending on the type of part, the process may include degreasing, grinding, roughening, masking, surface activation, priming, or a trial run design before repeat production.

Material and surface condition

We assess whether the surface is suitable for bonding, what kind of preparation it requires and whether grease, oxidation, older treatment or inappropriate handling interfere with the result.

Degreasing, roughening and activation

Proper surface preparation helps improve adhesion and joint stability. We choose the specific procedure according to the material, glue and the requirements of the order.

Masking and accuracy of application

For technical parts, we solve the exact definition of the bonded surface, the protection of the surrounding parts and the cleanliness of the application so that the joint corresponds to the technical specifications.

Test procedure before repetition

For repeat orders, it makes sense to verify the procedure on a sample or first part. This will help set up preparation, application, curing, inspection and documentation prior to serial pass.

When does bonding make sense?

A bonded joint may be a better choice than further mechanical intervention in the part

Industrial bonding is used where parts need to be joined without unnecessary heat, drilling or visible fasteners. It can also help when joining different materials, distributing stress or requiring a clean appearance of the product.

Bonding of dissimilar materials

Bonding can make sense where metal, plastic, composite, glass or other technical material meet and a classic joint would be structurally or manufacturing unsuitable.

Joints without thermal effects

Unlike some mechanical or thermal interventions, bonding can help preserve the properties of a part, surface or visual part of a product.

Appearance and design parts

For parts where appearance matters, bonding can reduce the need for visible fasteners and promote a cleaner design solution.

Repeatable manufacturing process

For B2B series, it is important to set up preparation, dosing, fixation, curing and control so that the result is stable across the entire order.

Quality control

The bonded joint must be prepared, executed and documented

Industrial bonding is not just about the strength of the joint itself. It is also important to check the preparation, application, curing, appearance, geometry, traceability of the materials used and documentation according to the requirements of the order.

Surface preparation check

We check whether the surface corresponds to the chosen procedure and whether it is ready for the application of glue or primer.

Application and curing

We monitor the progress of application, fixation and curing according to the type of glue, the part and the desired function of the joint.

Visual and dimensional inspection

In the case of bonded parts, we check the cleanliness of the design, correct seating, continuity of surfaces and other parameters important for the final product.

Documentation and traceability

According to the customer's requirements, we prepare records, reports and documents for technical approval, audit or repeated production.

Fields and Typical Uses

Bonding for demanding industries and repetitive production

We use industrial bonding where the customer needs a reliable, controlled and documentable process. It is especially important for technical parts, visual assemblies, joining different materials and orders that require documentation or supplier approval.

Rolling stock

Certified process, documentation, cleanliness, repeatability and traceability of surface treatments or other manufacturing operations.

Defense industry

Technically demanding parts, process control requirements, traceability and supplier qualification.

Energy and heavy engineering

Joints and assemblies that must withstand heavy use and follow up on other production or surface treatments.

Engineering and industrial production

Repeat orders, fixtures, assemblies and a stable process for long-term B2B cooperation.

Medical and special technology

Accuracy, cleanliness, control and documentation for specific technical fields and more sensitive applications.

Aerospace and precision engineering

Glued joints and assemblies where cleanliness, repeatability, documentation and controlled procedure without improvisation are decisive.

Projects

Typical industrial bonding applications

In bonding, it is important to show not only the finished joint, but also the reason for the choice of technology, surface preparation, process control, control and continuity with other production steps. Therefore, the references will be based on the technical context of the job.

Repeat production

Setting up a repeatable bonding process

Example of a job where preparation, dosing, fixation, curing and control needed to be set for a stable result in a series.

Bonding of materials

A bonded joint where a mechanical joint is not ideal

An example of a technical solution where bonding helped preserve the properties of the part, the appearance or the cleanliness of the structure.

Supplier qualification

Bonding with audit and documentation requirements

Implementation focused on documentability of the process, records, control and documents for technical approval by the customer.

Production operations

Bonding as part of a wider assembly

An example of an order where bonding followed surface treatment, assembly or other manufacturing operations at one supplier.

Certification and testing

Bonding as part of a demonstrable manufacturing process

For technically demanding orders, it is important to document not only the execution itself, but also the competence of the process, responsibility, control and documentation. Certification and records help with supplier approval, customer audits and long-term cooperation.

Frequently asked questions

What customers consider before requesting adhesive bonding

When does industrial bonding make sense?+

Bonding makes sense for technical parts, where a controlled connection, a clean appearance, the connection of different materials, the limitation of mechanical interventions or continuity with other production operations are important.

Can you document bonding for audit or supplier approval?+

Yes. For orders with a requirement for the supplier's qualification, we help document certifications, process records, inspections and other documents according to the customer's requirements.

Do you also deal with surface preparation before bonding?+

Yes. It is the preparation of the surface that is essential for the result. Depending on the material and specifications, we deal with degreasing, roughening, activation, primer, masking or further preparation of the bonded surface.

Can you combine bonding with painting or assembly?+

Yes. For suitable orders, bonding can follow on from surface treatment, welding, assembly, completion or preparation of custom fixtures.

What to send for rapid assessment?+

The ideal is a drawing, photo of the part, material, description of joint function, load requirements, term, number of pieces and any standard or customer regulation. If you don't know some data, just start with a brief description.
